PRIS during child care leave
Introduction of PRIS is quiet a very good decision. In our organistion, an employee is eligible for PRIS only when they satisfy some conditions like they should have minimum 175 working days of attendance in the previous year for being eligible for PRIS for the current year. and apart from that they should not have more than 30 days leave in the current year. Calculation of PRIS: If an employee is not having 175 working days in the previous year he will not be eligible for any PRIS in the current year. If an employee has more than 30 days of leave in the current year then he will be paid PRIS but on pro-rata basis, ie. the PRIS for days of leave above 30 will be deducted. Now the issue is the women employees who are availing the child care leave are loosing PRIS twice for the same period of leave. They are being punished twice for the same period of leave. Example: If a woman avails a childcare leave of around 3 months in 2010 (suppose from 1st january to march 31st) then in the year 2010 she will get PRIS on pro-rata basis ie. the PRIS for the leaves exceeding 30days will be deducted. and when it comes to the next year ie. 2011 she will not be eligible for PRIS as she is not having the 175 working days attendance in previous year ie. 2010 due to the same period of leave (ie. 1st jan -31st march 2010) and hence she will not get PRIS for the entire year of 2011. In this context the woman employees are being punished twice for availing the child care leave. need justification on this Posted : 03 Sep,12 6:53a.m.
