Employees in UP protest against the reservation in promotions bill

Several state and central government employees staged protests at various places across the city against the central government proposed reservation in promotions Bill.

At a protest at Vikas Bhawan, the agitated employees condemned the Central government move and said reservations in promotions would harm the future of general category employees. They threatened to intensify their agitation if the government goes ahead with the proposed reservation.

The protestors termed the move by the policy makers "a gimmick" aimed at luring SC and ST voters to vote for them in the 2014 general elections.
