7th CPC : Hiked salary likely from July, Arrears from August onwards With the state assembly elections getting over, the government will be moving towards the implementation of the Seventh Pay Commission. According to sources, 7th Pay Commission review committee, led by a group of secretaries are prepared with review and recommendations will submit their report once the elections across India gets over. Most likely, Committee will submit its report to Finance Ministry in the first week of June.

Other than the pressure of trade unions, the results of the Assembly election in five states, West Bengal, Assam, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Pondicherry, are likely to have an influence on the final pay out. It is expected that the hiked salaries as per the 7th Pay Commission recommendations will be paid in July and the arrears from January 2016, will be disbursed only August onwards.

If reports are to be believed then the proposal of minimum pay of 24,000 will be taken into consideration and the reasonable expectations of central government employees will be met while announcing the salary hikes in accordance with the 7th pay commission. A report published in a newspaper suggested that the secretaries group has recommended a hike of Rs 2,70,000 and Rs 21,000 for the higher and the lower level. This is twenty thousand more in the upper limit prescribed by the Seventh Pay Commission and three thousand more in the lower level set by the commission, i.e. 30 percent basic pay raise instead of 14.27 per cent increment by 7th CPC
