PG docs to Get Rs. 1 lakh salary for posting in remote areas In order to attract talented doctors for service at smaller places particularly in tribal- dominated areas, National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) has decided to offer a post graduate doctor on a consolidated salary of Rs. 1 lakh if he/she agrees for posting at primary health centres and sub-health centres in the districts of Jhabua, Alirajpur, Badwani, Mandla, Dindori, Sidhi, Singrauli and Anuppur.

In case, they are appointed at district hospital or community health centres at district headquarter in those districts, they will be paid a salary of Rs. 85,000.

A doctor with post graduate diploma will be paid a salary of Rs. 90,000 for posting at primary health centres and sub-centres and Rs. 75,000 for posting at district hospitals and community health centres at district headquarter.

For graduate doctors, the salaries would be Rs. 75,000 and Rs. 60,000 respectively.

NRHM national director Anuradha Gupta during her Bhopal visit recently had expressed concern over dearth of doctors at small places in the state and had said that doctors could be offered a salary of Rs. 1 lakh to Rs. 1.25 lakh if they agree to serve at those places.

A walk-in interview will be conducted between August 3 to August 29 for selection of doctors on contract, who will be posted in these districts.

The period of contract will be from the date of appointment to March 2014, which shall be extended following review of performance.
