Sharp rise in inflation

Sharp rise in inflation There was a sharp rise in prices in April as inflation inched up to 7.23%, much higher than 6.89% in March.
According to CNBC-TV18 poll, price jump in April was seen at 6.7%.
There are many reasons for such a steep hike in inflation. April is always seasonally higher on food prices because the harvest is in the market and the summer starts taking its toll on vegetable prices.
