» Performance Related Incentive Scheme (PRIS) accepted by Government

The Government has proposed to give performance-based initiatives to its employees to boost their efficiency and productivity.
"Government of India has accepted in principle the recommendation of the Sixth Pay Commission for introduction of a Performance Related Incentive Scheme (PRIS) (Read : 6th CPC : Chapter 2.5 on Performance Related Incentive Schemes
) in the form of pecuniary benefit over and above regular salary, based on the targeted performance and performance parameters, out of the Non-Plan budgetary savings, for the Central Government employees," Minister of State for Personnel V Narayanasamy told Lok Sabha in a written reply.
He said successive pay commissions, starting from Fourth Pay Commission, have recommended rewarding better performance and some form of performance-related reward.
"Separately, a Performance Related Incentive Scheme has also been recommended for all Central Government employees," he added.
