Patients trapped in CGHS wrangle bills : ToI article On Monday, CGHS suspended three hospitals in Delhi and two in Bangalore from the scheme for six months. After private hospitals across the country stopped cashless service, the CGHS Board pulled up some multi-specialty hospitals, including M S Ramaiah Memorial Hospital in Bangalore. On Monday, the hospital received a letter from CGHS saying the hospital has been suspended from the empanelment for six months.

"This is illogical. They owe us over Rs 50 lakh for bills in the past three years. We get 25 patients every day who seek treatment under CGHS. I feel sorry for them but they will have to fight for themselves," said Dr Naresh Shetty, president, Karnataka chapter, AHPI, who also heads M S Ramaiah Memorial Hospital. The CGHS is trying to break the unity of private hospitals by suspending some of them from the empanelment, he alleged.
