Jivi launches 3.5" android phone @ Rs. 1999/- Indian feature phone manufacturer Jivi has launched its first smartphone, which is "extremely affordable", for Rs 1,999/-. This makes it India's cheapest Android smartphone.

The dual SIM phone - JSP20, will be sold exclusively through ecommerce firm Amazon.in.

The device comes with bare minimum features. The phone features 3.5-inch screen and is powered by a 1 GHz processor. It runs on older Android Gingerbread OS. The phone also includes accelerometer sensor, 3.5 mm jack and a micro USB port.

"This is an entry-level device for those looking to upgrade. This is in sync with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Digital India initiative," Jivi Mobiles CEO Pankaj Anand said.

The company intends to bring newer devices in the coming weeks powered by the latest Android KitKat operating system.
