AI-CPI IW for March at 239, up by 1 point. 6% DA hike likely from July 2014
All-India Consumer Price Index Numbers For Industrial Workers (CPI-IW) for March, 2014 has been announced by the Labour Bureau, Ministry of Labour & Employment. The index now stands at 239, an increase by one point over the last month. On 1-month percentage change, it increased by 0.42 per cent between February, 2014 and March, 2014 compared with the rise of 0.45 per cent between the same two months a year ago. The last previous month also saw an increase of one point to 238 that came after a downward trend in the two months before that. In November 2013 the index was 243, which came down by 4 points in December to 239 and further by two points in January 2014 to reach 237.

It is early to speculate about the the dearness allowance hike from July 2014. The hike can be approximately 6%, making the DA at 106% from July 2014.
