Govt initiates process to constitute 7th central pay commission

Govt initiates process to constitute 7th central pay commission The Government has initiated the process to constitute the 7th Central Pay Commission along with finalization of its Terms of Reference, the composition and the possible timeframe for submission of its Report. The date of effect thereof will be known once the Report is available.

This was stated by Shri Namo Narain Meena, Minister of State in the Ministry of Finance in a written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha here today.

Earlier the finance minister P Chidambaram had announced that the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh approved the constitution of the 7th Pay Commission. Its recommendations are likely to be implemented with effect from January 1, 2016. However the commission is yet to formed. As on date there are only rumors about the constitution of the commission. The media had reported that the Government is likely to notify the the pay commission within the next two months.
