Govt at Lok Sabha : No proposal to increase retirement age.
The government have informed that there is no proposal to increase the age of retirement of central government employees from existing 60 to 62 years.

Shri. Jitendra Singh, Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions was replying to a question via written reply to the Lok Sabha when asked whether there is any proposal under consideration of the government to raise the retirement age.

There are about 50 lakh central government employees working in various departments across the country.

The Central Govt. raised the retirement age of its employees to 60 from 58 years way back in 1998.
