Its time for Nano 800 Tata nano's initial hype and interest didnt last too long to translate into profit for the company. The company could sell only 3500 pieces against the target of 25000 in November 2012 even after the year end offers worth 40000 was announced. Maruthi Alto 800 and and Hyundai Eon were the preferred low cost cars. And Tata is trying to get back things right.



The company is planning to pack the little Nano with more power. It is working on an 800 cc model. A diesel version is also under consideration. It is expected that the new model will hot the road in another 12 months. The expected price for the petrol version is around 2.5 Lacks. The diesel variant may cost a lack more. It will compete with New Alto 800 from Maruti Suzuki and the Hyundia Eon.

The new Tata Nano in a diesel option is just what the Indian car buyers need and hence the company's decision to bring in such an option. Its the time when the Indian customers are moving avay from petrol cars to the diesels versions. The upcoming Tata Nano with its diesel engine was spotted on test around Pune. Speculations reveal that the diesel version would be capable of achieving mileage of 40 kmpl which is what the company expects to attract a fair share of buyers.
