Micromax Canvas HD - Sold Out!

The Micromax Canvas HD - the 5 inch phablet launched yesterday on valentine's day was an instant hit. The company reported  o have sales of the order of 25 units per minute. It is said to have sold 9000 units in the first 24 hours. The online retailer had tough time meeting the customer requirement. The Snapdeal.com informed that the first lot of 500 Canvas HDS was sold out within 15 minutes of announcing sale on the midnight of 14 February. This was expected to sell in the entire day. The second lot of 300 units was arranged and this was also sold out within 15 minutes of the sale at 9 am and the third lot of 1,200 phones was sold in 45 minutes with the beginning of the sale at noon on Thursday.

The phone which is currently available only online will be available for sale at all leading retail stores in the country shortly. Priced at Rs 13,990, the Canvas HD is Micromax’s first quad core processor phone. The processor is clocked at 1.2GHz and made by MediaTek. The highlight of the gadget is the 5-inch IPS display, which packs in a resolution of 1280×720 pixels and has 294 pixels per inch. Another plus point is its camera - it has a 8-megapixel sensor, but at this price one normally does not expect much of the camera. The device runs on the latest Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.
