Cheaper iPhone for Rs 18000/- According to unconfirmed reports Apple is planning for a cheaper iPhone 5 for the markets like India and China. The scaled down iPhone cheap Rs. 18000 ersion is expected to carry a price tag of $300 or less than Rs. 18,000/-. This is much lesser than the current iPhone 5 market rate of Rs. 45,000/-. Even though the specifications for the phone is yet to be available, it is speculated to have a 4.5-inch display. The planned new phone will resemble the iPhone 5 from the front, but Apple will replace that handset''s aluminium body with a cheaper plastic casing

Apply traditionally have ignored the Indian market. The product launches used to be delayed for India compared to western countries or China. However the company has been losing the market mainly to Samsung. It is trying hard to sustain its mobile market. It has indeed been advertising the iPhone 5 India quite heavily.

Earlier reports suggests a cheaper iPhone model claim Apple plans to cut the cost of the iPhone with a “different and less expensive body”. It was rumoured that the company is toying with the idea of building the device with polycarbonate instead of aluminum, which will help it reduce the price significantly. Furthermore, other parts on the cheaper iPhone could be recycled from previous iPhone models.

This new lower prices iPhone is rumored to be compatible with frequencies in China and India, and will not be marketed in the United States.
