Government blocks 67 more porn websites. Avoid visiting these sites

The Department of Telecommunications ordered the blocking of 67 pornographic websites in four separate letters to internet service providers, 63 of which were based on court orders from Pune and four of which were based on a 2018 Uttarakhand High Court ruling and instructions from the Ministry of Electronics and IT (MeitY).

The IT Rules 2021 mandate that IT companies remove or block access to any content that "shows individuals in full or partial nudity or portrays or represents an individual in any sexual act or conduct." Additionally, it requires IT companies to remove or block access to purportedly impersonated or intentionally transformed content.

According to the DoT directive, these websites have been forbidden "in view of certain obscene material available in the below-mentioned websites that damage the image of women's modesty."
