The Indian Railway has launched an online Human Resource Management System (HRMS) to leverage improved productivity and employee satisfaction. The new system will benefit 27 lakh families of the serving as well as retired employees.
The new online system will look to improve the efficiency and productivity of the Railway system while moving another step towards complete digitisation of all Railway services.
According to the ministry of railways, the new HRMS is likely to bring in a positive impact on the functioning of all the employees while making them more tech-savvy. The new system was launched by Vinod Kumar Yadav, chairman & CEO, Railway Board via video conferencing.
The HRMS will include the Employee Self Service (ESS) module that will enable the railway employees to interact with various modules of HRMS including communication regarding change of data.
The Provident Fund (PF) module is also integrated into the system that will help Railway employees to check their PF balance and apply for PF advance online. Also the processing will be online and employees will also be able to see the processing status of their application online.
The system has also the settlement module which brings the entire settlement process of retiring railway employees online. As per the new system, the employees can fill their settlement, pension booklet online. Service details are fetched online and pension is processed online completely.
