Asus launches Chromebox at USD 179

Asus have launched a new chromebox which includes an HD camera, a microphone and speaker, and a remote control. The display is not included with the system. It uses the Net-based Chrome operating system by Google.  The chromebox starts at a price of $179.

Chromebox comes with the advantage that it provides security and speed of chrome OS. The system supports multitasking. The screen size can be adjusted and can be connected to multiple displays at once. It boots up in few seconds. The system comes with 100 GB of Google Drive space.

The system is powered by fourth generation intel processors - Intel celeron 2955 processor, an Intel Core i3-4010U processor or an Intel Core i7-4600U processor. It comes with high performance 802.11 b/g/n dual-band wireless.There are four USB 3.0 ports for fast data transfer and a display port for connecting to the latest displays and HDTVs. For accessing photos and documents there is SD card. Taking advantage of the new tool from Vidyo, you can connect to rooms which have traditional video conferencing systems and participants who prefer phones can join with a conference call number from UberConference. The system comes with HD camera supporting resolutions up to 1920x1080. Features include automatic switching of resolution based on bandwidth,a Carl Zeiss lens with autofocus, and automatic low-light correction. The microphone or speaker includes mute, end call, and volume buttons.
