Dearness Allowance from January 2020 to be 21%, hike of 4%

The All-India CPI-IW for December 2019 pegged at 330, an increase of 2 points from the previous month. The increase is contributed by the high inflation owing to the high increase in vegetable prices.

With all the figures available to calculate the Dearness Allowance, it can be said that the DA from January 2020 will be 21%, an increase of 4%. The DA is calculated as per the following expression.

DA = ((The average All-India CPI-IW over last 12 months -115.76)/115.76)*100.
