Finance Ministry clarifies: No order issued on DA resumption

The Ministry of Finance on Saturday issued a notice clarifying that no Office Memorandum was issued regarding the resumption of the frozen dearness allowance and dearness allowance. A pdf document has been circulating on various social media depicting an official order regarding the resumption of dearness allowance and dearness allowance from July 1, 2021. Ministry of Finance said that the Office Memorandum (OM) is fake and the government has issued no such Office Memorandum. 

The National Council of JCM and central government officials of the Ministry of Finance and Department of Personnel and Training met today i.e. 26 June 2021 to discuss various matters regarding the Central Government Employees and the issue of dearness allowance / dearness allowance and arrears are among the agenda points. The Central Government Employees are eagerly waiting for the outcome of the meeting. The document appears to be the work of some mischief-mongers taking advantage of this scenario.A briefing on the meeting just says that the Department of Expenditure would process the matter for getting the Cabinet Approval for restoring the frozen DA / DR. It is widely understood that the government might increase the DA and DR from July 2021. However, there is no word about the arrears for the duration that the allowances were frozen. The readers are advised not to believe such documents are messages circulating on social media unless it is from an official source or reputed media.
