Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology has issued the order, blocking 43 more Chinese apps under Section 69A of the Information Technology Act.
"This action was taken based on the inputs regarding these apps for engaging in activities which are prejudicial to sovereignty and integrity of India, defence of India, the security of the state and public order", the Government stated in an official statement.
The ban includes AliExpress under the Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba.
With this ban, the total Chinese apps banned in India reaches 220 which include the popular ones - Baidu, Baidu Express Edition, Tencent Watchlist, FaceU, WeChat Reading, Ludo All-Star, Alipay and Tencent Weiyun, besides PUBG Mobile and PUBG Mobile Lite
