Akash 4 in 45 days : Kapil Sibal Union Minister Kapil Sibal have told that the Akash-4 tablet will be available in market in one and a half months and will be priced Rs.3,999. He added the directorate general of supplies and disposals (DGSD) has already floated the tenders for the tablet.

Akash 4The tablet as per the specs available runs on Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean OS. The device will sport a 7" capacitive touch display with a resolution of 800Γ—480 pixels and support for a minimum five finger multi-touch points. The tablet have width of 7.5", height of 5", thickness of 0.75" and weighs less than 500g. The device will come with an inbuilt flash memory of 4GB which can be expanded upto 32GB via Micro SD cards.

The handset comes with 0.3 megapixel front facing camera with support for video recording.

The tablet packs a battery which delivers minimum three hours online 720p video playback or four hours offline 720p video playback, five hours of web browsing and 6 hours on e-reader mode. It support charging from AC and DC sources and USB ports.

The connectivity options are Wi-Fi, 2G, 3G and 4G. Akash-4 Support for reading and editing capabilities in Hindi, Kannada, Telugu, Malayalam, Tamil, Marathi, Guajarati, Punjabi, Bengali, Oriya, Bihari, Assamese, Bishnupriya ,Manipuri, Urdu, Sanskrit, and Devanagari scripts and languages./
