Cashless medical facility for Karnataka state employees soon

Karnataka state employees will soon be eligible for cashless medical services at hospitals. 6.5 lakh state government employees will be beneficiaries of this scheme. This was announced by Karnataka chief minister BS Yediyurappa while inaugurating the newly renovated Centenary Bhavan and Guest House of Karnataka State Government Employees Association at Bengaluru.

The Chief Minister added that the details of the scheme are being worked out and the formal announcement will be made soon.

He also praised the association which is the only representative body of over six lakh Government employees as a model association for the entire country.

He also stated that the government has issued an order against initiating any inquiry or action against the state government employees on the basis of anonymous petitions, thereby enabling the staff to discharge their duties without any fear. This has been a long-standing demand of the state government employees.

Last week, the CM said, the government issued an order granting six months leave to women to take care of their newborns. In addition, taluk and district-level joint advisory committees have been formed to address the grievances of the employees.
