Kendriya Vidyalaya  fee structure, exemptions and other details

The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) is a system of premier central government schools in India that are instituted under the aegis of the Ministry of Education, Government of India. As of October 2020, it has a total of 1243 schools in India, and three abroad. It is one of the world's largest chains of schools. 

All the schools share a common syllabus and offer bilingual instruction, in English and Hindi. They are co-educational. Sanskrit is taught as a compulsory subject from classes VI to VIII and as an optional subject until class XII.

Tuition fees are charged for Kendriya Vidyalaya students have to pay the school development fund (Vidyalaya Vikas Nidhi), with the proceeds spent on the development of that particular school. Students from Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes and children of KVS employees are exempt from tuition fees. Girls who are their parents' only child from class VI onward are exempt from tuition and school development fund.

KVS collects tuition fees on a quarterly basis in the months of January, April, July & October. Students can pay the fee for an academic year fee/annual fee as Advance Fee. Advance Fee can be paid for 1 academic year at one time. It can be paid only in January, April, July, and October. Late fees will be charged for the payments made after the 15th of the first month of the quarter.

The following is the fee structure for all schools under the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan 

KV fees structure for class 1 onwards

Admission Fee Rs. 25
Re-admission Fee Rs. 100
Tuition Fee – Rs. 200/month for the male students of class 9 & 10
– Rs. 300/month for the male students of class 11 & 12 (Comm & Humanities)
– Rs. 400/month for the male students of class 11 & 12 (Science)
Vidyalaya Vikas Nidhi (VVN) Rs. 500 (for classes 1 to 12)
Fee Computer – Rs. 100/month (for classes 3 to 12, wherever computer science is taught)
– Rs. 150/month (for computer science students of class 11 & 12)

Girl students are exempted from payment of KV tuition fee and a single girl child is exempted from payment of any kind of fees.

Exemption of VVN for one academic session

The KV fee can be paid online through the official website of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan. Students can also visit the Union Bank of India website for making the fee payment.

Steps for online KV fee payment.

  1. Candidates visit the website of Union Bank of India at https://www.unionbankofindia.co.in/english/personal-fees-kv.aspx
  2. Now click on the link for “Online Challan Generation and Fee Receipt”
  3. Now enter your 15 digits, unique student ID, Date of Birth and Captcha.
  4. Click on the submit button and choose the option to pay the fees.
  5. After successfully paying the fees to click on “Print Receipt”
  6. Students will need to submit this Receipt to their respective class teachers.
