Govt extends APAR deadlines for All India Services officers

Govt extends APAR deadlines for All India Services officers

The central government has extended the deadlines for recording performance appraisal reports for All India Services officers due to their involvement in preparations for the G20 Summit. The Department of Personnel and Training has informed the States and Union Territories about this extension for the 2022-23 appraisal reports.

The extension was granted because many officers are busy with G20 Summit-related duties and may not have time to review and record their remarks in the appraisal reports on schedule. To ensure that these reports are filed, the timelines for the Reporting and Reviewing Authorities have been extended by 15 days.

The new deadline for the Reporting Authority to complete appraisals is now September 30, 2023, instead of the earlier deadline of September 15. Similarly, the deadline for the Reviewing Authority has been shifted from November 15 to November 30. However, the cut-off date for appraisal by the accepting authority remains unchanged at December 31, 2023.

Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances, and Pensions, Jitendra Singh, announced on X that the government has decided to adjust the appraisal report timelines due to their commitments related to the G20 India engagements.
