Railway: Eligibility for JE (P.Way) against 20% LDCE Quota

Sub: Eligibility criteria for filling up the vacancies of JE (P.Way) against 20% LDCE Quota — Clarification reg.

Ref: Railway Board’s letter No. E(NG)I-2007/PM5/5 dated 29.10.2014.

Attention is invited to Para 2(ii) of Board’s letter No. E(NG)I-2007/PMS5/S dated 29.10.2014 (RBE No.120/2014) vide which the following eligibility criteria is laid down for filling up the post of JE (P. Way) against 20% LDCE quota:

“Track Maintainers of all grades and Civil Engineering staff, such as USFD staff, Blacksmith, Hammerman, Welder, Moulder, Aligner, Painter, Carpenter, etc., working on P.Way side, with 3 years of Railway service and either 10+2 pass with at least three subjects out of Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Computer Science or having Diploma in Civil Engineering/ Civil Engineering (Transportation) are eligible. All Diplomas should have the recognition/affiliation of AICTE”.

The Staff Side vide agenda item No.12/2021 in the DC/JCM have requested for including Artisan Helper (P. Way side) among the eligible categories for the 20% LDCE quota of JE (P. Way).

The matter has been considered in consultation with Civil Engineering Directorate and it has been decided that Artisan Helpers presently working in P. Way cadre and who have experience of working in P. Way Side for three (3) years may also be made eligible for the 20% LDCE quota in J.E.(P. Way), provided they fulfill educational qualification and other eligibility criteria for the post.
