Skip to mainThe Government in a reply to the question at the Lok Sabha has given information on the number of vacancies in the Indian Army, Air Force and Navy in the grade of soldiers. The reply also details the salary and other benefits offered to Agniveer/ jawans that are being done under the Agnipath Scheme. In the four-year service in the forces, they will be eligible for a Package of which deductions @ 30% will be made towards the contribution to the Agniveer Corpus Fund. The government will also be contributing an equal amount towards the Agniveer Corpus Fund. This consolidated amount with interest will be paid as Seva Nidhi Package. They will not be entitled to any other benefits enjoyed by the central government employees.

Will the Minister of DEFENCE be pleased to state:
(a) the details of the number of vacant posts in the Indian Army, Air Force and Navy in the grade of the soldier as of date, force-wise;
(b) the details of the number of posts advertised in the said grade during the year 2022 till date, force-wise; and
(c) the details of a number of jawans recruited during the year 2022 till date along with details of pay and allowances admissible to these jawans, force-wise?

(a): The details of the number of vacant posts in the Indian Army, Indian Air Force and Indian Navy are as under:-

(b): A total of 40000 vacancies have been advertised for JCOs/OR in the Indian Army. A total of 3000 vacancies have been advertised for Agniveer in the year 2022 in the Indian Navy. 3000 vacancies have been advertised in Indian Air Force as Agniveervayu under Agnipath Scheme in the year 2022.
(c): All the recruitments at the level of jawans are being done under the Agnipath Scheme presently under progress and the details of their pay are as under: –

Note 1: Agniveer will not be required to contribute to any Provident Fund of the Government.

Note 3: Risk and hardship allowances will be given based on the individual’s place of posting.
