Railways warns lifetime debarment for protesting aspirants

According to a statement released on Tuesday by the Ministry of Railways, aspirants who have engaged in vandalism and unlawful activities will be subject to police action as well as a lifetime ban from applying for railway positions.

The ministry stated in a statement that it has come to the attention of the ministry that aspirants for railway jobs have engaged in vandalism and unlawful activities such as protesting on tracks, disrupting train operations, damaging railway property, and so on.

Indulging in such misguided activities constitutes the highest level of indiscipline, making such aspirants unsuitable for railway jobs. The ministry stated that videos of such activities will be examined with the assistance of specialised agencies, and that "candidates/aspirants found to have engaged in unlawful activities will be liable for police action as well as a lifetime ban from applying for railway jobs." As a result, the ministry stated that railway recruitment boards are committed to conducting a fair and transparent recruitment process while upholding the highest levels of integrity and professionalism.

Thousands of students who appeared for Railway Recruitment Board's (RRB's) Non-Technical Popular Categories exam 2021, blocked railway tracks for five hours at Rajendra Nagar Terminal in Patna alleging discrepancies in the results.
