CANTEEN CARDHOLDERS

Will the Minister of DEFENCE be pleased to state:

(a) whether all the Army canteen card holders have been permitted to purchase provisions from any place in the country, if so, the details thereof;

(b) whether the dependents of senior citizens have also been permitted to purchase provisions from other canteens at any place, if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor;

(c) whether the Government proposes to extend the permission to the dependents of senior citizens in this regard; and

(d) if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor?

IN THE MINISTRY OF DEFENCE

(a) to (d): As a pilot initiative, all Canteen Stores Department (CSD) beneficiaries have been permitted to purchase provisions as per their entitlement from any canteen. In case a beneficiary (including Sr. citizen) is not able to present himself/herself personally, a dependent is permitted to purchase stores on his/her behalf after obtaining permission from the Chairman of the Unit Run Canteen (URC) to purchase provisions from that URC.

क्या रक्षा मंत्री यह बताने की कृपा करेंगे कि :

(क) क्या सभी सेना कैंटीन कार्ड धारकों को देश में किसी भी स्थान से राशन खरीदने की अनुमति दी गई है, यदि हां, तो तत्संबंधी ब्यौरा क्या है;

(ख) कया वरिष्ठ नागरिकों के आश्रितों को भी किसी भी कैंटीन से सामान खरीदने की अनुमति दी गई है, यदि हां, तो तत्संबंधी ब्यौरा क्‍या है, यदि नहीं, तो इसके क्या कारण हैं;

(ग) क्या सरकार का विचार इस संबंध में वरिष्ठ नागरिकों के आश्रितों को अनुमति देने का है; और

(घ) यदि हां, तो तत्संबंधी ब्यौरा क्या है और यदि नहीं, तो इसके क्या कारण हैं ?

रक्षा मंत्रालय में राज्य मंत्री (श्री अजय भट्ट)

(क) से (घ) : पायलट पहल के तौर पर, सभी कैंटीन भंडार विभाग (सीएसडी) लाभाथियों को उनकी पात्रता के अनुसार किसी भी कैंटीन से सामान खरीदने की अनुमति प्रदान की गई है। किसी मामले में यदि कोई लाभार्थी (वरिष्ठ नागरिक सहित) व्यक्तिगत रूप से पहुंचने में असमर्थ हैं तो उनके आश्रित को यूनिट रन कैंटीन (यूआरसी) के चेयरमैन से अनुमति प्राप्त करने के बाद उस यूआरसी से सामान खरीदने की अनुमति दी जाती है।
