EPS'95 pensioners can now submit life certificates year-round valid for 1 year

Pensioners will no longer have to submit a Life Certificate to the EPFO. The Life Certificate can be submitted at any time by pensioners. Pensioners used to be required to provide a copy of their death certificate every November. Pensioners must submit an annual life certificate to prove their continued viability in order to receive their benefits without interruption.

EPS-95 pensioners can now submit their life certificates at any time, according to a tweet from the EPFO. For one year following the date of submission, it is valid. That is to say, millions of retirees would no longer have to go through the inconvenience of submitting a life certificate in November.

This no longer requires a trip to the bank or post office. Pensioners can submit a digital life certificate utilising the doorstep banking alliance of 12 public sector banks or the doorstep service of the Department of Posts, according to the Department of Pension and Pensioners' Welfare.
