Tripura Govt employees body criticize Govt over cheating employees over 7th CPC

The Tripura Government Employees Samiti strongly criticized the BJP-led coalition government in Tripura, alleging betrayal towards state employees regarding the implementation of the 7th Central Pay Commission, a promise made by the BJP before the 2018 assembly elections.

During the 53rd state convention of the Tripura Government Employees Samiti at Agartala Town Hall, the attendees rallied under the slogan, "eliminate anti-employee, anti-constitution forces and strengthen democracy."

Pijush Kanti Datta, the general secretary of the employees' body, accused the government of deceiving Tripura employees by not adhering to the 7th CPC. Instead, the government implemented a pay revision, which he asserted was a deceitful maneuver, claiming to align with the 7th CPC while lacking compatibility with central benefits.

Moreover, he condemned the government's actions in abolishing old pension schemes and weakening the die-in-harness scheme. Addressing the plight of the 10323 dismissed teachers, he highlighted the government's failure to uphold its commitment to support these individuals, leaving their issues unaddressed.

Criticizing the scarcity of government jobs despite numerous vacant positions across different sectors, he emphasized the necessity to regularize contractual employees in various government sectors.
