A total of 75 aircraft flew past the Rajpath in Delhi to commemorate the 75th anniversary of India's independence, the largest aerial display in the country's history. For the first time, the Indian Air Force has collaborated with public broadcaster Doordarshan to broadcast in-flight videos that have been recorded. Television stations broadcast breathtaking bird's eye views of the cloud formations and the aircraft flying above them today. The visuals were also broadcast live on large screens at the parade venue. A total of five Rafale fighter jets, all of which were recently acquired, took part in the display.
Various formations were displayed by vintage and modern aircraft, including the Indian Navy's MiG29K and P-8I surveillance aircraft, as well as the Rafale and Sukhoi fighters and helicopters, as well as the Sarang, Apache and Dakota. The formations included Vinaash, Tangail and Rahat, Meghna, Eklavya and Rudra, Trishul and Tiranga, Vijay and Amrit. There were planes from the army, navy and air force that took part in the magnificent display.
