Minister K N Balagopal said Rs 4,000 will be given as a bonus to government employees and Rs 2,750 as a special festival allowance to those who are not eligible for the bonus. A special festival allowance of Rs 1,000 will be given to service pensioners and retired employees under the participatory pension scheme.
Rs 20,000 will be given as Onam advance to all government employees. For other employees including part-time-contingent, the advance is Rs 6,000. All categories of employees, including contract and scheme workers, who received the festival allowance last year, will get the festival allowance at the same rate this year as well.
Minister K N Balagopal said that special assistance on account of Onam is reaching more than 13 lakh employees and workers.
