Ahead of a two-day strike, the power ministry issues advisory.

The power ministry wrote to all state governments and electricity authorities on Sunday, asking them to ensure the normal operation of the electricity supply during the employees' two-day national strike, which will take place from March 28 to March 30. Shutdown activities scheduled for these two days may be rescheduled to a more convenient time in the future, according to the ministry. To deal with any emergency situations, additional manpower may be deployed at all critical power stations.

The power ministry's advisory stated that control room executives should be vigilant and on high alert, and that power supply to essential services such as hospitals, defence infrastructure, and railways should be ensured.

Many services are expected to be disrupted for two days across the country, as a joint forum of central trade unions has called for a nationwide strike on March 28 and 29, to protest government policies that affect workers, farmers, and the general public. Roads, transportation, electricity, and bank unions have all decided to join the strike. Unions in sectors such as coal, steel, oil, telecom, postal, income tax, copper, banks, and insurance, among others, have issued strike notices, according to a joint forum statement released earlier. It stated that unions in the railways and defence sectors would mobilise in support of the strike in hundreds of locations.
