The Confederation of Central Government Employee has called for a nationwide strike against the Govt decision not to restore HRA at 30, 20 & 10%. The date of effect for allowances is also fixed as 01-07-2017 thereby denying 18 months arrears. The intelligence agencies have warned that if the announcement of the higher allowances and HRA is delayed further there could be a nationwide unrest. The Union Cabinet could take up proposals on 7th pay commission allowances (including HRA) next week, Shiv Gopal Mishra, the convenor of National Joint Council of Action (NJCA), told.
