After Congress, Sitaram Yechury demands DA restoration

As the key meeting involving officials representing the Finance Ministry, the Department of Personnel and Training (DOPT). and the National Council of Joint Consultative Machinery (JCM) is in progress, various opposition leaders have started to make their voices heard in favor of the Central Government Employees. Communist Party of India leader Sitaram Yechury has termed the withholding of the Dearness Allowance as criminal.

In a tweet posted he mentioned "Modi govt withholds payment of ₹37.5K crores Dearness Allowance to 1.13 crore veterans, pensioners & employees for 1.5 years during this pandemic. Same time daily petro price hikes, overall inflation is ruining livelihoods. Pay DA forthwith."

This is criminal.

Earlier the Congress leader Abhishek Singhvi had also demanded immediate restoration of the DA installments.
