Cabinet likely to decide the Dearness Allowance hike tomorrow

The union Cabinet chaired by the Prime Minister is to nnet tomorrow. The announcement regarding the DA Hike for central government employees may be made following the cabinet meeting that the Modi government is scheduled to hold on March 15. It was earlier expected that the DA hike would be announced before festival of Holi.

The All-India CPI-IW grew by 0.5 point to 132.8 in January 2023. (one hundred thirty two point eight). In terms of 1-month percentage change, it increased by 0.38 percent over the previous month, but by 0.24 percent less than between the same months a year ago.

If the cabinet meeting next week does not resolve the DA issue, the All India Consumer Price Index (AICPI) statistics that the Labor Ministry releases before the end of the month may carry a hint regarding the anticipated Dearness Allowance (DA) increase. A fresh issue of CPI-IW for the month of February will be published on March 31, 2023.
