National Joint Council of Action (NJCA) has issued a clarion call for a decisive mega rally on August 10, 2023, at Ramlila Ground in New Delhi. The rally aims to bring together employees and workers from various sectors, including Central and State Governments, PSUs, Teachers, University Teachers, etc. The primary objective of this grand gathering is to demand the scrapping of the National Pension System (NPS) and the restoration of the Old Pension Scheme (OPS). Confederation, a prominent member of NJCA, is expected to play a significant role in mobilizing its affiliates and ensuring widespread participation. The success of this rally is of utmost importance as it will determine the course of action for future endeavours and send a powerful message to NJCA and the authorities.
In preparation for the event, the matter was thoroughly discussed during the National Secretariat Meeting of Confederation held on July 8, and a specific quota of participants was assigned to various affiliates, as detailed in the Confederation circular dated July 17, 2023. Now is the time for the Confederation to demonstrate its mettle and fighting spirit by reaching out to every member and persuading them to join the decisive struggle for the Restoration of OPS. State Central Organizing Committees (COCs) in Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh are called upon to play a crucial role in mobilizing their cadres and ensuring their active participation in the rally. Additionally, all affiliates and state COCs are urged to remit their outstanding dues and subscriptions to support the expenses incurred for the rally and future agitational programs. The success of the mega rally hinges on the collective effort of the Confederation and its members to stand united in their demand for a fair pension system.
